Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account in September 2025 addressing recent law enforcement actions and tax policy initiatives.
On September 12, 2025, Owens expressed gratitude to local and federal authorities for their efforts in a high-profile criminal case. He wrote, “Thankful for the tireless work of Utah and federal law enforcement, @GovCox, @FBIDirectorKash, and all who helped bring Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin into custody. Justice will be served. May God continue to surround Charlie’s family and loved ones with comfort and strength.”
Days later, on September 15, Owens highlighted the Working Families Tax Cut as beneficial for various groups in his district. He stated, “Whether you’re a parent fighting for your child’s future, a worker wanting to keep more of your paycheck, or a small business building a skilled workforce, the Working Families Tax Cut is for you. Proud to have @EdWorkforceCmte Chair @RepWalberg in UT-04!”
In another post later that day, Owens reiterated his support for the tax cut alongside Rep. Walberg: “Just like @RepWalberg and I told @RodandGregShow, the Working Families Tax Cut is a game-changer for America’s students and workers – because it puts them first.”
Owens has represented Utah’s 4th congressional district since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
