Rep. Burgess Owens, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, posted several statements on March 17, 2026, addressing issues related to American elections and federal aid for students.

In a post made at 17:23 UTC, Owens stated, “American elections are for Americans. End of story. Pass the SAVE America Act.” Later that day at 22:00 UTC, he followed up with another post referencing additional content by writing, “This “.

At 22:26 UTC on the same day, Owens addressed concerns about federal aid distribution to students. He wrote, “Federal aid needs to go to those students who need it most, and every cent that is defrauded represents a lost opportunity for students in need and a serious offense to the American taxpayer. I am grateful my bill passed with bipartisan support and look forward to it passing the”.

Owens has served as Utah’s representative in Congress since defeating Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City, Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
