Rep. Burgess Owens, a U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, has recently shared several updates on his social media accounts, including commentary on voting laws and meetings with local leaders.

On February 11, 2026, Owens posted about the proliferation of artificial intelligence-generated videos and connected the topic to election security, stating, “These AI videos are funny because of how absurd they are. But it’s more absurd that you don’t need to prove you’re an American citizen to vote in an American election. Pass the SAVE America Act.”

The following day, on February 12, 2026, Owens discussed his engagement with regional officials from Utah: “I was grateful to meet with the Wasatch Front Regional Council here in DC. Utah is the greatest state in the Union and I am grateful for these good and engaged leaders helping to ensure that we are being smart and thoughtful about our growth and planning.”

Later that same day, he reiterated his support for the SAVE America Act and highlighted its progress in Congress: “For the THIRD TIME @HouseGOP has passed the SAVE America Act. It’s time now for the Senate to get this to @realDonaldTrump’s desk. My friend @SenMikeLee has already found 46 co-sponsors and counting. Let’s get this done!”

Owens replaced Ben McAdams as representative of Utah’s 4th district in 2021 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951, he graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
