Rep. Burgess Owens, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, recently used his social media platform to comment on national holidays and legislative efforts related to election integrity.
On February 16, 2026, Owens marked the federal holiday by posting: “Happy Presidents Day! https://t.co/MGftE4VEbh”.
The following day, February 17, he addressed election legislation in another post: “Make it easy to vote and hard to cheat, passing the SAVE America Act is wildly popular. Ensuring only citizens vote in US Elections is a no brainer.
Let’s get this done.
Thank you for your tireless work on this @ScottPresler! https://t.co/6hGkY4HKNm“.
On February 18, Owens called for action from Senate Republicans regarding the same bill: “Dear @SenateGOP,
50 of you cosponsor the SAVE America Act. Let the @SenateDems spend real time on the floor explaining their LOSING ARGUMENT why they oppose this common sense law that 80% of Americans support.
Make them talk, keep them on the floor and let’s get this bill to https://t.co/joqXNZxsQI“.
Owens’ advocacy centers around the SAVE America Act, which he claims has broad public support and aims to ensure that only citizens can participate in U.S. elections.
A former University of Miami graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1974, Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City.
