Burgess Owens, a current U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, shared his thoughts on recent legislative activities via social media. Owens, who has been active in the political arena following his predecessor Ben McAdams, expressed optimism and support for the legislative agenda aligned with President Donald Trump.

On July 3, 2025, Owens tweeted about the momentum within the House GOP to fulfill their promises. He stated: “It’s called momentum. @HouseGOP is coming together to keep our promises: pass the One Big Beautiful Bill, deliver President @realDonaldTrump’s agenda, and honor the mandate of the American people.”

Later that day, he announced his affirmative vote on a significant piece of legislation known as “One Big Beautiful Bill.” He mentioned its next destination being President Trump’s desk by tweeting: “Proud to vote YES on the One Big Beautiful Bill. Next stop: President @realDonaldTrump’s desk.”

In another post from July 3rd, Owens celebrated what he referred to as “America’s Super Bowl win,” referring to the passage of the bill with a close margin of votes. He highlighted Speaker Johnson’s role by tweeting: “America’s Super Bowl win, the One Big Beautiful Bill! 218–214 MVP: @SpeakerJohnson”

Burgess Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. A graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1974.
