Rep. Burgess Owens, a U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, posted several statements on his Twitter account in January 2026, touching on American ideals and international affairs.

On January 19, 2026, Owens expressed gratitude for civil rights leaders, stating: “I remain profoundly grateful to the brave Americans like Dr. King who fought to help our nation strive toward its founding ideals, where people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. Leaders like him blazed the trail that took a kid https://t.co/vIkTuQlEjY”.

Two days later, on January 21, 2026, he referenced deal-making with a brief post: “The Art of the Deal. https://t.co/lG1Xjc6ffQ”.

On January 22, 2026, Owens commented on former President Trump’s reported negotiations involving Greenland: “President Trump has found the makings of a deal on Greenland and is once again demonstrating the kind of bold, strategic deal-making that puts American security and leadership first. This is not a zero-sum game. A win for America on this front is a win for the entire free”.

Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
