Rep. Burgess Owens, U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, shared updates on his recent activities and legislative priorities through a series of posts on social media in early August 2025.
On August 8, Owens wrote about his participation in an event with Rep. Mike Kennedy and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors: “Honored to join my friend @RepMikeKennedy to speak with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. We had a great conversation about the wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill, education freedom, and why American energy dominance matters more than ever.” (August 8, 2025)
Later that day, he reiterated his support for educational reform: “Students deserve the opportunity to learn, parents deserve the power to choose, and Americans deserve the best education system in the world – the One Big Beautiful Bill delivers!” (August 8, 2025)
The following day, Owens highlighted a visit to a local business: “Great to visit Atlas Molded Products in Murray, an important Utah manufacturer producing high-quality polystyrene for insulation, packaging, and more. Appreciated the chance to see their operation firsthand and talk about how we can keep Utah businesses growing and thriving.” (August 9, 2025)
Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since defeating Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
