Rep. Burgess Owens, who has represented Utah’s 4th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, shared several updates on July 14, 2025, highlighting local business developments and community partnerships. Owens, a resident of Salt Lake City and a University of Miami graduate, used his social media platform to spotlight economic activity and collaborative efforts in Utah.
On July 14, 2025, Rep. Owens congratulated a new business opening in Taylorsville: “Another great business has opened in Taylorsville, Utah! Congratulations to Kevin, Coco, and their hardworking team on the ribbon cutting of their new Grease Monkey location on 5400 S.”
Later that day, he reported on discussions at the Bingham Canyon Mine with South Jordan City and Rio Tinto Kennecott officials: “Team Owens joined South Jordan City and Rio Tinto Kennecott officials at the Bingham Canyon Mine to discuss current operations and future mineral production. This mine is vital, not just to Utah’s economy, but to our national security. It’s more than copper: nearly 30 of the 50”.
In another post from July 14, Rep. Owens described meeting with Americans for Prosperity Utah during their statewide tour: “Great to catch up with @AFP_Utah during their statewide tour stop in Salt Lake County. Grateful for their partnership in the fight to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill — a game changer for Utah’s families, students, workers, seniors, and small businesses.”
Burgess Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and earned his BS from the University of Miami in 1974 before relocating to Salt Lake City.
