Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on August 7, 2025, about his recent activities and legislative initiatives through a series of posts on social media.

In one post, Owens described his visit to a local correctional facility: “Toured the Utah State Correctional Facility and saw firsthand the work being done to help inmates gain skills, training, and purpose. Utah is leading the way on education, second chances, and successful reentry.” (August 7, 2025).

Later that day, Owens highlighted his involvement in transit legislation: “Proud to co-lead the Safe Transit Accountability Act with @RepSmucker to empower agencies like @RideUTA right here in Utah. America’s growing communities deserve safe, reliable transit and that starts by putting decisions back in the hands of states and local leaders.” (August 7, 2025).

He also posted about a visit to a technology company in Springville: “Toured the manufacturing space at Site Stream in Springville, Utah, where mobile security is being revolutionized. Their live camera system protects everything from job sites to major events – another great example of Utah innovation at work!” (August 7, 2025).

Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
