Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on his official social media account, highlighting community engagement and expressing views on political discourse.

On February 12, 2026, Owens announced the dedication of a new space honoring an influential historical figure: “Today we unveiled the Frederick Douglass Press Gallery, memorializing a great man’s contributions to our nation. Frederick Douglas never gave up on his country and never stopped fighting for a more perfect union where all Americans are treated equally and where truth guides us to”.

Later that same day, Owens commented on political dynamics involving respect for women and minorities: “Thank you for calling this out @ScottJenningsKY! It so sad to me to see how many folks on the left have zero respect for women and minorities. They can’t answer a question when pressed, are wildly out of touch with the rest of America, and blatantly doubt the abilities of”.

On February 13, 2026, Owens highlighted his meeting with students from Utah FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America): “It was a pleasure to meet the incredible students and workers from Utah FCCLA! Owens has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after replacing Ben McAdams. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. Owens graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
