Rep. Burgess Owens, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 4th district, recently announced a series of legislative initiatives and funding achievements through his official social media account.

On December 5, 2025, Owens shared an update on water infrastructure support for his constituents: “For over a year, I’ve been working to secure critical support for our water infrastructure and rural communities and I’m proud to share that we delivered BIG wins for Utah’s Fourth District:

$7.5 million for the Grassroots Source Water Protection Program to help small”.

Later the same day, he expressed his endorsement of new legislation aimed at supporting victims of violent crime. In a post dated December 5, 2025, Owens stated: “Proud to support @RepAnnWagner’s Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act to protect the Crime Victims Fund, which serves nearly 4 million victims of violent crime each year. This is a commonsense, no-cost solution to ensure critical support continues for families in all 50 states.”

That evening, Rep. Owens highlighted his commitment to healthcare price transparency by co-sponsoring new legislation. On December 5, 2025 he posted: “Americans deserve to know the real price of their health care BEFORE they get the bill. I co-sponsored @RepJames’ Patients Deserve Price Tags Act to require hospitals, insurers, and PBMs to provide clear, upfront pricing so patients can make informed decisions and avoid surprise”.

Burgess Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since replacing Ben McAdams in Congress in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and now residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, Owens holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami (1974).
