Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, provided a series of updates on legislative and economic initiatives in Utah through his official social media account on September 17, 2025.
In a post at 16:23 UTC, Owens wrote, “From passing the Working Families Tax Cuts to supporting our state’s business community on @EdWorkforceCmte and @TransportGOP, I was proud to share a legislative update with 60+ business leaders from the @saltlakechamber. Thanks for all you do to keep Utah’s economy strong!”
Later that day at 16:39 UTC, he commented on local manufacturing growth: “Great to sit down with Stadler Rail’s Martin Ritter and Lucy Andres for an update on their Salt Lake City expansion. With 500 jobs in Utah and 300 more on the way, their growth proves our state leads in manufacturing – a success story I’m proud to bring back to @TransportGOP.”
At 18:54 UTC, Owens addressed early childhood education efforts by posting, “Thank you to the @ECEConsortium for stopping by to talk about updates to the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act. Expanding access to quality early childhood education is critical, and it’s our mission at @EdWorkforceCmte to help every child reach their full potential.”
Owens has served as a congressional representative since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and now residing in Salt Lake City, Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
