Rep. Burgess Owens, U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, marked Pioneer Day on July 24, 2025, with several posts highlighting Utah’s heritage and legislative updates.

In a message posted at 13:12 UTC, Owens stated, “The pioneer spirit lives on in Utah, in our families, faith, and commitment to serve. On Pioneer Day, we honor the Utahns who came before us and recommit to building a future worthy of their courage and sacrifice. Happy Pioneer Day, and may God continue to bless the greatest”.

Shortly after, at 13:28 UTC, he announced legislative progress affecting local infrastructure: “BIG news on Pioneer Day! Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, and Lehi have relied on one overcrowded post office for far too long. My Saratoga Springs Post Office Act will fix that by unlocking land for a new facility – delivering shorter lines, faster service, and the”.

Burgess Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He succeeded Ben McAdams as representative of Utah’s 4th congressional district beginning his term in 2021.
