Rep. Burgess Owens, who has represented Utah’s 4th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared several updates on social media reflecting his engagement with local business development, education policy, and workforce initiatives.

On July 14, 2025, Rep. Owens posted a message congratulating a local business: “Congratulations to Becky and the entire team at The Mercantile at Gardner Village in West Jordan on their official ribbon cutting! We’re proud to celebrate another great Utah small business helping our communities grow and thrive.”

The following day, July 15, 2025, he commented on his participation in an Education and Workforce Committee hearing: “Joining @EdWorkforceCmte to question leaders from @Georgetown, @CUNY, and @UCBerkeley on their failure to confront campus antisemitism. We will NEVER accept pro-terror groups, foreign dollars bankrolling hate, or faculty pushing division over education.”

Later that same day, Rep. Owens celebrated developments in workforce policy: “Another major win for America’s workforce! This is how we close the skills gap, empower workers, and make our nation the world leader in workforce development.”

Burgess Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
