Burgess Owens, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 4th District since 2021, shared several updates on social media regarding his recent activities and community engagements.
On July 7, 2025, Owens expressed gratitude towards South Valley Services for their work with victims of domestic abuse. He stated, “Grateful for organizations like South Valley Services, where victims of domestic abuse can find refuge, healing, and hope. I learned a lot during my visit to their facility earlier this week and we’re thankful for the life-saving work they’re doing in our community.”
Later that day, he congratulated Wayne Harper on his retirement after serving as Taylorsville City’s Economic Development Director for 13 years. Owens remarked at 16:02 UTC on July 7th, “Congratulations to my friend Wayne Harper on a well-earned retirement! For 13 years, he’s served Taylorsville City with excellence as their Economic Development Director. I’m thankful for his leadership, vision, and years of service to our community.”
In another post at 17:05 UTC on the same day, Owens announced funding for infrastructure improvements at Manti-Ephraim Airport. He wrote about the investment saying “Great news for Utah’s 4th District: @ephraimcity is receiving $296,271 from @USDOT and @FAANews to upgrade safety systems and replace outdated infrastructure at Manti-Ephraim Airport. This investment keeps our rural airports safe, efficient, and ready for the future.”
Burgess Owens was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and resides in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
