Tuition for Utah residents attending Salt Lake Community College rose by 4.2% during the 2022-23 school year, based on recent disclosures, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.
In-state students paid $4,257 to attend the two-year public college this year, an increase of $171 from the $4,086 charged in the 2021-22 academic year.
Non-resident tuition was 221.8% higher than that of residents in 2022-23, amounting to $13,701. This represents a 7.6% increase from $12,734 in the previous school year.
Approximately 96% of the undergraduate student body are Utah residents, while about 2% come from other states and another 2% are international students.
Data indicates that all full-time undergraduates who began studies at Salt Lake Community College in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. In total, 1,489 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $5.7 million, and 123 students took out loans exceeding $450,377.
Across the entire undergraduate population, 17,221 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $32.2 million. Additionally, 1,633 students obtained federal student loans totaling $6 million.
