Rep. Burgess Owens, a U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing voter identification laws, school safety legislation, and the American Dream for new parents.

The following day, on February 10, he highlighted his participation in introducing a school safety bill named after Alyssa Alhadeff, a victim of the Parkland shooting. He wrote: “I was honored to be joined by Dr. and Mrs. Alhadeff to help introduce the bill named after their daughter, Alyssa, who was taken from us too soon in Parkland.
Alyssa’s Act is simple, and it will save lives.
In short, it helps ensure that our schools have the best evidence-based”
On February 11, Owens addressed new parents in America with another post: “For every mom and dad having a baby this year, this is one incredible start to the American Dream “
Owens’ remarks come as part of his ongoing work as a legislator for Utah’s 4th District—a position he has held since defeating Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, Owens holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami (1974).
