Rep. Burgess Owens, U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, recently addressed several issues on his official Twitter account, ranging from religious freedom and law enforcement to federal government processes and fiscal policy.

On January 22, 2026, Owens commented on recent events in Minnesota involving disturbances at churches. He stated, “Since our founding, religious freedom has been a cornerstone of our Republic. The intimidation tactics used by these church rioters in Minnesota are appalling. I am glad to see those involved and responsible being held accountable. There is no room for rioting in churches. Owens replaced Ben McAdams as representative for Utah’s 4th District in 2021 and resides in Salt Lake City after being born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami (1974).
