Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on February 11, 2026, highlighting his views on education and legislative priorities.

He wrote, “I was grateful for the chance to speak to the American Association of Community Colleges today. As the proud son of a professor and high school teacher, I deeply understand the importance of education. School doesn’t just enhance knowledge- it opens doors you never knew existed.”

Burgess Owens has served in Congress since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021 and is currently based in Salt Lake City. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and now aged 71, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami (1974).
