In a post published at 00:09 UTC, Owens stated, “Chuck Schumer and the Democrats would rather pick a fight with President Trump than keep the government open.”
Later that day at 15:53 UTC, he informed constituents about office operations amid potential disruptions: “My offices in Washington and West Jordan remain open, and our casework team will continue providing full constituent services. Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City, Owens graduated from the University of Miami in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
