Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on community events and meetings through his social media posts.
On August 5, 2025, Owens attended a local tradition and wrote, “The Payson Salmon Supper has been a Utah favorite for over 70 years! Glad to join so many Utahns for this long-standing tradition and thankful to Mayor Bill Wright for the warm welcome.”
Two days later, on August 7, he posted about an educational visit: “Met with Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine President Dr. Norman Wright, Dean Dr. Lynsey Drew, and some outstanding student leaders to talk about medical education, student success, and the future of health care in Utah. Thanks for having me!”
That same day, Owens recognized military service members: “#PurpleHeartDay honors the brave men and women wounded or killed in combat while defending our nation. We’re forever grateful for these heroes, from Utah’s Fourth District and across the country, for their courage, sacrifice, and service. “
Owens has served as the representative for Utah’s 4th District since 2021 after succeeding Ben McAdams. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
