Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted several recent developments on his official Twitter account on August 7, 2025. Owens commented on federal education policy, the Trump administration’s performance, and local business activity in Springville.

In a post at 19:01 UTC, Owens addressed improvements to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), stating: “After years of chaos, it’s good to see FAFSA finally getting back on track thanks to @EdSecMcMahon. America’s students and their families deserve a FAFSA system that works so they can make the best decisions about their college education.”

An hour later, at 20:00 UTC, Owens praised President Donald Trump’s administration for its achievements over the first 200 days of his term: “200 days in, President @realDonaldTrump is delivering historic results at record speed. Biggest middle-class tax cut in history Record-low border crossings Cutting waste, fraud, and abuse Restoring U.S. energy dominance Empowering students, parents, and workers Peace”

Later that evening at 20:35 UTC, Owens described a visit to Interwest Mechanical Contractors in Springville: “Stopped by Interwest Mechanical Contractors in Springville, where Kelly Mower and his team are turning stainless steel into critical piping for U.S. food plants. We talked supply chains, workforce, and the confidence President Trump’s trade agenda is bringing back to businesses.”

Burgess Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City, Owens earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in 1974.
