Rep. Burgess Owens, U.S. Congressman representing Utah’s 4th district since 2021, recently shared updates on his activities and views through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On November 4, 2025, Owens posted about a meeting with representatives from the National Federation of the Blind Utah (NFBUtah), stating: “Great meeting with representatives from @NFBUtah to hear their perspectives on federal issues impacting their members. I appreciate their insight and the important work they do on behalf of Utahns across our state.”
Two days later, on November 6, 2025, Owens addressed concerns regarding early education programs during an ongoing government shutdown. He wrote: “Head Start programs like Early Learning Essentials in Saratoga Springs serve more than 500 Utah children each year. As the Democrat Shutdown drags on, early education and family support programs like this face immense uncertainty, leaving families in limbo. It’s unconscionable.”
On November 7, 2025, Owens reflected on his participation in a ceremony honoring local veterans: “It was humbling to join the Utah Veteran Centenarian Recognition Ceremony this week to honor 23 veterans who served our nation in World War II and beyond. It reminded me of my own father, a proud WWII veteran, who would have turned 100 this year.”
Owens has represented Utah’s 4th District since replacing Ben McAdams in Congress in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and now residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
