Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several local initiatives and organizations through his official Twitter account, focusing on agriculture, economic development, and public safety.
On August 26, 2025, Owens posted about a meeting with rural stakeholders: “Met with our Rural Advisory Council to hear from UT-04 farmers and ranchers, the backbone of our state. The One Big Beautiful Bill is a big win for rural Utah, raising the death tax exemption, protecting family farms, and strengthening food security for generations to come.”
Later in the week on August 29, Owens recognized local business leaders in another post: “Jeremy Brockbank and his team at Retail Collective are strengthening Utah’s economy by connecting and supporting retail companies here at home and across the country. Yet another reminder that Utah is the best place to live, work, and build a business. Thanks for stopping by!”
That same day, he also commended law enforcement efforts against illegal drugs: “Impressed and grateful for @DEARockyMtnDiv’s work in Utah and across the U.S. to get drugs off our streets, combat the cartels, and keep our communities safe. Illegal drugs devastate families, and we will continue to support the DEA’s efforts to stop the flow into Utah.”
Owens has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Ben McAdams as representative of Utah’s 4th district. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. Before entering politics he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree.
