Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on December 9, 2025, highlighting support for local agriculture, innovation in rail technology, and community service.

In a post thanking former President Donald Trump for supporting farmers, Owens wrote: “Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump, for standing up for the men and women who feed our nation – this historic announcement is a game-changer for farmers in Utah’s Fourth District and across America!” (December 9, 2025).

Later that day, Owens described his visit to Stadler, a company based in Utah known for its work in rail innovation. He stated: “Great visit to Stadler, a remarkable Utah company breaking barriers in rail innovation with an all-of-the-above approach. I also had the chance to meet their impressive high school apprentices – young Utahns gaining real skills through a unique apprenticeship model. Our state’s” (December 9, 2025).

Owens also reflected on meeting with Lynn Handy, a former Taylorsville Councilman. He posted: “Really enjoyed visiting with former Taylorsville Councilman Lynn Handy this week. Lynn has served in many capacities over the years and is a great example of someone who invests his time and talent for the good of our community.” (December 9, 2025).

Owens has represented Utah’s 4th district since replacing Ben McAdams in Congress in 2021. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently residing in Salt Lake City at age 71, he graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
