Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media in July 2025 highlighting recent infrastructure achievements and legislative actions involving Utah and national spending.

On July 16, Owens wrote about Utah’s approach to major projects and partnerships: “From the Inland Port to the FrontRunner project to hosting the 2032 Olympics, Utah builds fast, finishes under budget, and thinks big. Glad to welcome @USDOT @SecDuffy to @TransportGOP and grateful to have strong partners as we invest in Utah’s future.”

Later that day, he expressed appreciation for a congressional group: “Thank you @RepublicanStudy! “ (July 16).

Two days later, on July 18, Owens highlighted legislative action taken by House Republicans: “Last night, @HouseGOP sent the rescissions package to President @realDonaldTrump’s desk, cutting $9 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse, codifying DOGE’s work, and reversing the era of Washington’s wasteful spending. This is a BIG win for U.S. taxpayers, and there’s more to come!”

Owens has served as Utah’s representative since 2021 after replacing Ben McAdams. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and currently resides in Salt Lake City. He graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
