Rep. Burgess Owens, who represents Utah’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his participation in local events and support for veterans and resource development in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 14, 2025, Owens shared his involvement with several organizations at a recent event: “Honored to join last night’s Hope for Heroes Gala with Deer Hollow, Steps Recovery Center, and Brothers in Healing. This is the Utah way, serving our neighbors and standing with our veterans and first responders who have sacrificed so much for our communities, state, and nation.”

Later that day, he commented on developments affecting veterans: “Great news for America’s veterans.

The @DeptVetAffairs is processing more benefits claims than ever before.

UT-04 veterans: if you need help with the VA, Team Owens is ready to advocate for you. Visit https://t.co/REkdD4XUTC or call us at 801-999-9801.”

On August 15, 2025, Owens addressed Utah’s role in critical minerals production: “Utah’s abundant natural resources can help power America’s future. I visited Tintic Consolidated Metals in southwest Utah County to see firsthand our state’s potential to lead in producing the critical minerals our nation needs.”

Owens has served as the U.S. Representative for Utah’s 4th District since 2021 after succeeding Ben McAdams. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1951 and now residing in Salt Lake City, Owens graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
