City of South Salt Lake issued the following announcement on April 28.
By law once every 10 years, following Census results, our city evaluates the population of districts to ensure that each has roughly the same amount of people.
The 2020 Census reports the population of South Salt Lake at 26,777. When redistricting SSL the approximate/target number in each of our 5 districts is now 5,355. The proposed map retains existing elected officials in their current district. The map was proposed at the 4/13/22 City Council meeting and moved to Unfinished Business for the 4/27/22 Regular Meeting.
