Burgess Owens, a U.S. Congressman representing Utah's 4th district since 2021, has shared his views and legislative efforts on education and environmental appointments through a series of tweets. Owens, who succeeded Ben McAdams in Congress, is advocating for educational reform and has expressed support for a new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator.

On January 29, 2025, Rep. Burgess Owens highlighted concerns about the decline in student performance over recent years. He stated: "Compared to 2019: - 8th-grade reading down 8 points, math down 5. - 4th-grade reading down 5 points, math down 3." Owens attributed these declines to systemic failures in the education system and proposed that choice could be a solution.

In another tweet on the same day, Owens promoted legislation aimed at enhancing parental involvement in education. He mentioned the Educational Choice for Children Act introduced with Rep. Adrian Smith: "Learn more about the Educational Choice for Children Act, legislation I introduced with @RepAdrianSmith to put parents back in the driver's seat."

Later, on January 30, 2025, Owens congratulated Lee Zeldin on his appointment as the next EPA Administrator. He tweeted: "Congrats @leezeldin, America's next @EPA Administrator!"
