Owens shared that he had enjoyed his visit with Mayor Karen Lang, saying

"I enjoyed visiting with Mayor Karen Lang to talk about how we can strengthen collaboration between federal and local leaders. Great things are happening in West Valley City!”.Later on the same day, Owens tweeted about a meeting with former State Representative Eric Hutchings, noting,

"Great to catch up with my friend, former State Rep. Eric Hutchings. We had a great conversation about two pillars of Utah’s future: education and agriculture. Grateful for his insight — and for leaders who put Utah families first."Additionally, Rep. Owens expressed his concerns regarding adherence to Title IX and its implications for women in sports. As he tweeted,

"These activists are denying biology, ignoring common sense, and refusing to comply with Title IX — the very law meant to protect women’s opportunities. Thank God we have an administration defending women and girls in sports — not sacrificing them to radical ideology.”Burgess Owens is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Utah’s 4th district. He replaced previous U.S Congress member Ben McAdams in 2021.
