Salt Lake City Public Utilities Proposes 15 Percent Water Rate Increase For Fiscal Year 2023

Sctt

City of Cottonwood Heights issued the following announcement on May 16.

Salt Lake City Public Utilities, which provides water to Cottonwood Heights, is proposing a 15 percent water rate increase for fiscal year 2023. If the Salt Lake city council approves it, the new rate will take effect on July 1, 2022.

Rate adjustments allow SLCPU to continue providing high-quality customer service, helping to fund water treatment plant upgrades, and supporting water line and other aging infrastructure repairs and replacement.

The Salt Lake city council will hold public hearings on the proposed budget (including these rate change proposals) on May 17 and June 7. Visit the Salt Lake County utilities website for more information.
