2022 Fireworks Restrictions

C

City of Draper issued the following announcement on June 23.

Utah remains in severe drought with extreme fire danger conditions. Please see the 2022 fireworks restrictions for Draper City by visiting our interactive fireworks restrictions map. This map allows users to enter an address to determine if the address is in a restricted area. Restrictions will be strictly enforced.

Draper City encourages residents who want to celebrate July holidays with fireworks to ensure fireworks are used within permitted areas and following all recommended safety guidelines. Complete firework information relating to sale dates, permitted discharge dates and times, and safety tips can be viewed on our Fireworks/Fire Prevention page. Please be aware that Sparklers are fireworks and are included in the restrictions. Discharge of fireworks is not allowed in any city parks.

To minimize risk, residents are encouraged to consider attending professional fireworks displays, which are supervised by fire personnel. As part of Draper Days, the Draper Nights Concerts and Fireworks will be held July 15-16. Admission to these events is free.

Some residents have asked the City to completely ban personal fireworks. State code does not allow cities to ban fireworks. Draper City can only restrict areas that meet specific criteria for high fire danger. If you observe fireworks use in restricted areas you can report it to police/fire dispatch at (801) 840-4000. If you see a fire start, call 911.

We appreciate the cooperation of residents with following fireworks restrictions in Draper. These restrictions are in the interest of protecting lives and property. We want everyone to have a safe and fun summer holiday season.
