Rep. Burgess Owens, a congressional representative for Utah’s 4th District, voiced his stance on certain policy issues through a series of tweets. Owens, who has represented his district since replacing Ben McAdams in 2021, provided commentary regarding voter ID laws and his office's efforts to assist constituents.

On March 31, 2025, Owens tweeted about the controversy surrounding voter ID laws. He stated, "The Left will spend this week calling voter ID racist. It’s the soft bigotry of low expectations—and it's a total lie. Only American citizens should vote in American elections!". This comment reflects his view that requiring identification to vote is not inherently discriminatory.

Later that day, Rep. Owens highlighted the achievements of his office in assisting local constituents. He tweeted, "A highlight from last week's district report! Team Owens is always working to help Utahns recover their hard-earned money and benefits by working with federal agencies on your behalf. Head to https://t.co/fuzH8D4xEO to open a case!" underscoring his commitment to aiding residents through collaboration with federal entities.

On April 1, 2025, Owens reiterated his stance regarding voter ID laws by stating, "Voter ID is not racist. Assuming Black Americans can’t get an ID is." Through this tweet, Owens aimed to clarify his position on the issue, arguing against the notion that such laws are discriminatory.
