Rep. Burgess Owens discusses education, city growth, and emergency services

Rep. Burgess Owens, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 4th district, recently shared updates on his activities through a series of tweets. Owens has been active in engaging with educational institutions, local government officials, and emergency services within his constituency.

On March 18, 2025, Rep. Owens expressed his appreciation for the work being done at Greenwood Elementary. He noted the dedication of teachers who support special needs students and ESL learners with modified learning plans tailored to individual needs. "Great to visit Greenwood Elementary yesterday to see firsthand the work these incredible teachers do to support special needs students, ESL learners, and kids with modified learning plans to fit their specific needs."

Later that day, Owens met with Saratoga Springs City Council members Audrey Barton and Lance Wadman. The meeting focused on collaborative efforts to promote smart growth and support strong families within the city. "I met with City Council members Audrey Barton and Lance Wadman yesterday about how we can work together to support smart growth and strong families in the great city of Saratoga Springs."

In another post from March 18, Rep. Owens highlighted the challenges faced by Sanpete County’s volunteer fire departments. He acknowledged their commitment despite limited resources and emphasized his ongoing efforts to secure necessary support for these vital community services. "Sanpete County’s volunteer fire departments do more with less—fighting fires across the region with limited resources."
